The development of California State University, Long Beach.

Presents oral histories with nine women and men involved with the development of California State University, Long Beach, which was first known as South Los Angeles-Orange County State College, then named Long Beach State College, and California State College, Long Beach. The narrators were among the pioneer faculty, administrators, students and community volunteers at the school which opened in a Long Beach apartment building in 1949 and was planned to serve the expanding suburbs in the area.
